The "Blue Ribbon Method" of Mounting Your Cowpony
Step One: Decide which side to mount. Don't go with the conventional, be different, stand out in the crowd. Keep your horse guessing.
Step Two: Insert tip of boot into stirrup. Be ready to bounce nimbly from the ground to the back of the horse. Once again, keep the horse guessing.
Step Three: Pause for your public. Smile for cameras, work the scene.
Step Four: Haul your little behind onto your horse's little behind. Land gently, as if he's going to feel you up there.
Step Five: Sit tall in the saddle. Reach for your stirrups, heels down. Lightly pick up your reins. Engage. You're looking good, you're a cowboy.
(and, the horse is still guessing...)

That little mini-horse is in perfect scale to the little boy! I have never seen one saddled up before, usually just pulling a cart.
My sister has a mini she rescued from the auction and he's so small he can stand between my legs and my feet are flat on the ground!
That is so stinking cute!
Thank you for your sweet comment - I think I almost had a meltdown last night! :)
A wonderful series of photos. Thanks, Sandy.
Wow Taryn...now that is a small mini your sis has!
SouthernSass -- you're very welcome.
