The Weekend the Dogs Ruled
Back in the day, this was serious stuff to me. I used to show English and Gordon Setters. At the shows I was in a bubble the whole weekend, fretting how we'd look to the judge and how we'd beat the pants off the competition.
This last weekend I took the camera, instead of a dog, to the Olympic Kennel Club Show in (practically) my backyard...and took some "Best in Show" pics.
Test question: What's the proper color for a dog show "power suit" (i.e. look at ME judge, NOW!)?
Betcha thought Scottish Terriers only came in black, huh? This fella is "wheaten".
Some quiet time with a long-haired blond...a gorgeous Afghan Hound.
"May I take a picture of you and your dog?" People were delighted to show the camera, and you, their best friend.
In closing (for today)...Remember the old adage "People look like their dogs"? Well, I found a huge (HUGE) discrepancy with that saying!

Great shots -- and, yep, dog show people are always willing to have you shoot their pride and joy.
Remind me to never stand in front of you when you've got a camera.
